Stopped by a Time Warner customer counter at lunch today to pick up a high definition DVR. The lady behind the counter asked me if I had a work order for it. When I told her no, she said, “We’re really not supposed to give those out without a work order. Oh well.” So now I have a shiny new 8300HD, and I can honestly say that I love it. It is substantially more responsive than my standard definition DVR, and it is absolutely wonderful to have a better signal path into the projector.
Today was the much-anticipated company outing that my boss from London and I have been plotting and scheming about for the past month. We left the office bright and early to head north to our first scheduled stop, some two and a half hours north of Dayton - the IHOP Restaurant in Perrysburg, OH. I was actually upset, because I had my heart set on some cheese blintzes, but about 5 minutes after I ordered, the waitress came back and told me they were out.
I saw this stupid quiz on my roommate’s LJ, and I went ahead and took it and decided to post it here. Sounds about right for me, too…

Bah. It’s only been two weekdays with no work, and I’m already completely hating it. This summer will suck unless I find something else fun to occupy my time.
Anyway… I thought of a few more amusing things that happened to me that I’m not too sure I ever commented about on here.
A while back, I was driving my bus to my first stop in the morning (so it was still quite dark out) when I heard a loud whack as something hit the windshield.
Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids, and the last day of work for me until August, and I am sad. I already miss work, and cannot wait to go back in the fall. The three kids that rode my bus home yesterday were asking me if I was going to be back in the fall, and my favorite kid even said “I’m gonna miss you guys” to me and my monitor when he got off.
This has been a very, very, very busy week for me. I’ve had to attend a very, very boring Pre-Service driver training class, which is kind of stupid since I’m already in service. The class was basically some guy from the state bitching at us about how we need to document things so that we as the driver can’t get sued, and also how the laws are written in a way that basically ensures we get sued no matter how much we document.
The allegedly bad kid that was added to my route is not riding for the time being. He rode for a day and a half. Evidently, while he was at school that second day, his meds wore off or something, and he got into a huge fight, and now has three felony assault charges against him. Glad that one didn’t happen on the bus. So he’s off the bus until they tell me otherwise.
Today was such a long and tiring day, but it was oh so very fun. I was supposed to refuel my bus yesterday afternoon when I came back from my run, but I forgot to. So instead, I came in early this morning (I got there at 5:30 instead of 5:45) and refueled as soon as I was done with my pre-trip. But when I got in and started walking up to my bus, I noticed that the service door was wide open.
